Leila Bux Leila began her career in integrative health care as a massage therapist, specialising in therapeutic and deep tissue techniques. In search of a more direct approach to healing and after using it herself for an ankle injury, she was so impressed by the healing action of acupuncture she decided to study this ancient form of medicine in order to offer it's therapeutic benefits to others. Leila studied Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) at Middlesex University, regarded as the top TCM programme in Europe, for four years and graduated with an honours degree. The course provided rigorous training in Acupuncture, Chinese Herbal Medicine, Nutrition, Cupping and Moxibustion as well as comprehensive training in western biomedicine. Over the four years of study at Middlesex, clinical training took place at the Asante Academy of TCM, and at the NHS Pain Clinics in North Middlesex Hospital and Whittingdon Hospital. Leila also attended a clinical placement in 2007, at the The Yunnan Provincial TCM Hospital, in Kunming, China, to study TuiNa (Chinese Massage), under Dr Yang. Leila is continuing her studies, currently undertaking a Masters degree in Chinese Herbal Medicine at Westminster University. Leila's particular interest is in women's health, back, neck and shoulder pain, and supporting people with chronic pain issues.
